Tired of the gray days of winter? Even if you’ve got several more weeks of chilly air before spring really hits, try adding a few spring-like colors to your makeup palette to get you in the mood for warmer days to come. Just remember, the trick to avoid looking like an Easter egg is to keep those colors isolated to just one area.
Eyes: You can play with color on your eyes, so long as you go neutral with your lips and cheeks. A light dusting of colors like Blue Steel, Canvas and Alexandrite (purple’s gonna be big this year) from Le Métier De Beauté add just the right amount of flirty, spring-time fun.
Cheeks: A peachy glow has been a hot trend all winter, so keep it going by adding a cream blush like lip2cheek’s. A cream blush is quick and easy to apply and this one’s organic and adds extra hydration.
Lips: You’re best bet on the lips is a good shade of pink. If you’re fair-skinned, go for a more peachy-pink. Darker skin tones can play with more dramatic pinks with blue undertones. There are a ton of great shades to try in NARS’s Larger Than Life Lip Gloss collection.
But before you play with these fun shades, you may want to add some color to your skin with a self-tanner too. Lighter pastel colors generally look better if you have a sun-kissed glow. Give Phytomer’s Sun Radiance Self-Tanning Cream a try.
