No matter how closely I watch as the manicurist beautifies my nails at the salon, I can never quite replicate those results at home. So I was pumped to discover OPI‘s Manicure/Pedicure line, which claims to “bring the spa experience home” via six luscious scents and three formulations: a scrub, a mask and a massage lotion. I opted for the Royal Verbena Massage lotion, and-with the nail gurus at OPI standing behind it-it renewed my hope for a worthy at-home mani-pedi.
The product made its first impression with a refreshing citrusy-sweet fragrance. Starting with the hands, I used a generous amount of the lotion for a brief massage, focusing on the cuticles. The lightweight formula absorbed pretty quickly, leaving a sheen but not a greasy finish. My cuticles looked better hydrated, thanks to the botanical and citrus extracts, as well as antioxidant vitamins and emollients.
I noticed the biggest difference on my feet, which, I must admit, don’t get the same daily moisturizing and pampering as my hands. The lotion helped soften cuticles for easier nudging and trimming, although I had to use a swipe of nail polish remover on each nail before applying a base coat.
This luxe lotion may just have been the missing ingredient in my at-home recipe, bringing me one step closer to the ultimate DIY mani-pedi.
