It’s no secret I’ve been on a health kick lately, and I can confidently say I’m eating better than ever. Although I’ve gained a few pounds since my wedding in June, I feel fantastic, and people have even commented on how great my skin looks.
After reading Beyond Botox: 7 Strategies for Sexy, Ageless Skin Without Needles or Surgery by B. Kamins Chemist founders Ben and Howard Kaminsky, I decided to start my mornings with this delicious treat. Packed with antioxidant-rich berries, calcium-packed yogurt, healthy soy protein and other essential nutrients, this is a great way to get your skin off to a luminous start.
The Super Berry Smoothie
Two medium snack-sized servings or one large mealtime serving.
½ cup calcium fortified soy milk
½ cup nonfat yogurt
1 cup fresh or frozen super berries (any combination of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, açai, strawberries or cherries without pits)
½ cup chopped or crushed pineapple (in natural juice, drained)
1 tablespoon flax oil or freshly ground flaxseed
2 ice cubes
Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor and mix until smooth.
P.S. My husband likes this smoothie too, but he skips the banana and adds a few packets of Splenda. I’ve tried adding a little honey, too.
