Whether you’re stubborn about brand loyalty or obsessive about the next big thing, finding a reliable facial cleanser is often a shot in the dark. Regrettably, I find myself reaching for the most visually pleasing bottles, tubes, cloths and sprays, quickly giving up on differentiating gimmick from truth. When it came to The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser from Soap & Glory, however, judging this “book” by its “cover” was an absolute victory.
Aside from its sugary pink packaging, slippery silver tube and witty diction-the instructions even crack a couple jokes-this facial cleanser truly has bragging rights. Complete with a muslin cloth, it left my skin instantly soft and makeup-free, successfully reducing the size of my pores in just a couple washes.
Although a fluffy laundry list of ingredients often doesn’t mean much, its blend of essential oils, orange, lavender, clary sage and rose geranium emitted a calming aroma during what felt like my very own mini spa session. The conditioning oils of sweet almond, cocoa butter and coconut certainly helped to smooth and moisturize my skin, allowing me to finally realize what in the world “glowing skin” actually looked like.
The instructions recommend massaging the creamy “splodge” of cleanser for about 60 seconds, in addition to letting it set for an extra minute. Although in the past I found most beauty tasks longer than 20 seconds terribly demanding, the cleanser’s fresh smell and light texture actually inspired me to pamper myself for a bit longer. Finally, the warm, soaked muslin cloth allowed for easy removal, leaving my pores small yet devoid of that dry, tight feeling many other pore-reducing cleansers cause.
Although I am certainly not recommending that anyone make a decision based solely on exterior, at least not with beauty products, I’m confident that Soap & Glory’s Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser is more than just another proverbial pretty face.
