While other companies market their beauty-related moisturizes as lotions and creams, Philosophy takes a more creative bent, choosing to name theirs after rich, delectable, sweet, goodness-in this particular case, Powdered Sugar Cookie Body Soufflé.
The Powdered Sugar Cookie Body Soufflé is a white-ish substance, of medium-to-thick consistency, and is scented like, well, as my husband would say, lemon meringue pie. If you were expecting some sweet smelling, vanilla-sugary scented product, well, you’ve come to the wrong place, my friend.
While some products are low-key and hide their subtle scent in their nicely packaged container, Powdered Sugar Cookie Body Soufflé hits you once you unscrew that black top and lift the air-tight film. Even before it interacts with your body chemistry, the scent of lemon screams at you.
After a shower, I applied Powdered Sugar Cookie Body Soufflé to all over. The scent was initially overwhelming for me, and I typically like lemon-y stuff. After about two hours (and clothes and a drive in my car), the scent did subside enough to where I didn’t notice it anymore. And because my skin is so dry, it disappeared rapidly as I tried to compensate for its lack of moisturizing effects by applying more than I normally do.
Scent aside, if you have dry and/or aging skin, you’ll find (especially in the winter months) that Powdered Sugar Cookie Body Soufflé won’t hit the spot. Although I didn’t have any negative reactions (i.e. breakouts, scaly/flakey skin), it didn’t leave me comforted and relaxed like some other products do.
