For the second time in two weeks, we’ve heard about a celebrity’s cosmetic surgery possibly resulting in less acting work. This time, the alleged job applicant is Rose McGowan.
Earlier this year, the beautiful former Charmed star told the New York Post that she had to get plastic surgery after a car accident: “I didn’t realize I was hurt until I put my hand to my face and felt the flap of skin. My glasses had sliced me under my eye.”
But now the New York Daily News has followed up with the speculation that she lost a part in the upcoming Speed Racer because the surgery changed her appearance too dramatically. Casting insiders say the 34-year-old looks like she may have gotten an eyelift or even a facelift, and that producers felt she was no longer recognizable. The part will instead be played by Christina Ricci. McGowen’s camp has brushed off the rumors, claiming Rose wasn’t auditioning for the part in the first place.
