I generally prefer to exfoliate chemically (with hydroxy acids, chemical peels, etc). But while I was pregnant, I had to find new ways to manage my skin, and turned to good old mechanical exfoliation. That’s how I discovered Bioelements Pumice Peel.
It’s not the newest product on the block, but I absolutely fell in love with it! It was seriously like an at-home microdermabrasion. In fact, even though I had access to free microdermabrasion treatments while pregnant, I just opted to continue using Pumice Peel on my own.
This scrub is extremely smoothing and clarifying. I always looked so fresh and glowing after using it (although most people probably thought the glow was from pregnancy). It does an excellent job removing dead skin cells, and it also reduces the appearance of acne scarring over time (which I needed because of the light post-blemish marks left over from the outrageous hormonal breakouts in the my trimester).
To top it off, Bioelements adds in vitamins and oils to provide an extra boost of nutrition to those new skin layers. It has ingredients like vitamin C (an excellent antioxidant), vitamin E (moisturizing and great for scars), and sage oil (a natural antibacterial).
All you need to do is massage this scrub on your face for one minute (after cleansing) once or twice a week for younger, more even, clearer skin. (Not to mention that makeup always looks better on regularly exfoliated skin!)
