With celebrity fans like Courteney Cox, Hilary Swank, Amy Adams and Rihanna, we had to share with you our new favorite nail polishes summer from Butter London. Straight off the runways, the Butter London Spring/Summer 2011 Collection was inspired by the many “impressionist” style prints that graced catwalks from New York to Paris during Fashion Week. Butter London calls themselves a “3 Free Company.” Their products are completely non-toxic, containing no formaldehyde, no toluene and no DBP (a toxic plasticizer). More reasons to love.
Designed by Founding Creative Director, Nonie Crème, the new collection is reminiscent of Monet’s palettes and includes an “opal overcoat that speaks to the continued ‘muted/greige’ trend. There is a strong move toward ‘retro’ colors this season, with many designers looking at Halston-era glamour and style. Although beige, greige and natural nails were a strong direction, consumers want to see something new and exciting on the shelves. Butter London’s S/S 2011 collection is all about “pops” of color that feel unique and edgy but relevant-our trademark,” explains Crème.
One of our favorite shades, Hen Party, is a sheer opal lacquer that is neutral and noticeable by itself but can be worn as an on-trend, edgy overcoat on top of another shade. A “hen party” is actually a British term for a bachelorette party, where groups of women frolic through the West End of London. How fun?
