Dr. Ramin Tayani

I performed 879 surgeries in one year during my fellowship at Harvard. I had witnessed all types of cases from slight to severe and I brought that experience into my own private practice. Since then, I’ve developed techniques that have drawn international recognition, and I’ve lectured on them in the U.S., China and the Middle East.

Mission Viejo is our flagship office where our patient consultations take place, and all of its 5,000-square-foot design was my own creation. In addition to the warm, comfortable environment the Tayani Institute offers, we also provide the latest in technology and procedures with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our San Clemente office hosts our surgical facility, which is accredited by JCAHO and Medicare for safety. We also offer satellite offices so that my reach can extend to patients outside the area.

I instill in each staff member the idea that every single patient we treat is their family member. If we treat our patients as we do our family members, we can’t go wrong. That’s become our motto, and it’s helped us provide the best possible patient experience.

I had wanted to become an ophthalmologist ever since the sixth grade. When I finally began practicing ophthalmology, I wanted to work with the area of the eye that had the largest creativity and diversity components. Of the six sub-specialities within the eye, oculoplastics was the one that gave me that surgical creativity and diversity on a daily basis. Each patient presented with a different problem that I wanted to solve.
