A Focused Approach

When Dr. Horn began his practice, he pledged that he would never become a jack-of-all-trades. At a time when many practitioners may be adding to their menu of services, he believes the secret to his success has been honing his skills in a limited number of procedures. You cannot train for a triathlon only one day a week and expect good results, he explains. To Dr. Horn, his specialization and repetition of procedures provide his patients with a winning combination. Aside from producing predictable results, doing so allows him to constantly sharpen his skills. Working toward aesthetically pleasing results has resulted in surgical techniques that minimize scarring, speed recovery, lessen bruising and shorten time under anesthesia. Dr. Horn admits that there are many ways potential patients can evaluate surgeons; however, for him, the best surgeon is the one who most frequently performs a particular procedure.

About my practice:

In what ways are your staff members internal patient ambassadors?

All of my team members have already had plastic surgery, so I match patients due to have the same procedure with these internal ambassadors, giving patients a support network to call on if I am in surgery or if they just want to identify with a peer.

How do you show patients you care?

I call them at home before and after their surgeries. They always tell me how surprised they are, as many have never had doctors do this before.

In what ways are you and your staff patient minded?

We focus on convenience, availability, experience and support. Our facility is home to a thriving practice dedicated to the cosmetic enhancement of the face and body. We offer Saturday and evening hours to accommodate busy professionals and show respect for their schedules. I also choose to perform all surgeries myself rather than expand my practice and bring on another plastic surgeon. In turn, I receive more patient ambassadors willing to testify on behalf of their experience.
