Q:
Is a liquid facelift surgical and does it replace a traditional face lift?

Plastic Surgeon

That term was coined by a plastic surgeon or could have been coined by one of the companies that produced one of the fillers because that's typically what you get in a liquid face lift. It's really a combination of filler and Botox, so everything is essentially liquid in a syringe and you're getting the little bit of the lifting action from the Botox and the plumping or volume replacement with the Juvederm or Restylane. It's not really a face lift. Sometimes it's truly patients who may be a little bit younger and are not quite there in terms of needing a full face lift, but they're seeing some of the early signs of aging and they're sort of buying time before they have a face lift. Or there are patients who never really want to undergo surgery.
