global gravitas
Dr. Zoran Potparic’s global perspective comes from training across the United States, Europe and England. His extensive experience contributes to his firm belief that “high-quality results are predicated on an in-depth understanding of reconstructive plastic surgery.”
Author of over 35 papers and chapters published in peer-review journals and books, Dr. Potparic continues to build a formidable reputation and credits his respected facial rejuvenation skills to his experience in craniofacial surgery. A pioneer of restorative techniques used to correct birth and post-traumatic deformities, the board-certified plastic surgeon is the proud recipient of numerous fellowships. “During the course of my 27 years in practice, I have learned that aesthetic plastic and reconstructive surgery are chasing the same goal—symmetry and normalcy,” says Dr. Potparic, who uses proportion, balance and symmetry as his guiding surgical principles. “You cannot address aesthetics properly without a solid knowledge of anatomy.”

Dr. Potparic describes himself as conservative yet radical. “I always approach a patient first through the eyes of safety and security,” says the experienced surgeon. “If I do a procedure, it will be with full conviction and nothing less. My patients' objectives determine my approach and technique." A full range of facial rejuvenation, body contouring, breast enhancement and nonsurgical treatments are offered at Dr. Potparic’s private practice, where he refers to his tenured staff as “jewels,” based on their ceaseless devotion to extreme patient satisfaction. “Patients tell me all the time how well they have been treated, and that is so important with elective surgery,” says Dr. Potparic.

Inside Information
AN UPLIFTING APPROACH
When performing BREAST LIFT AND BREAST REDUCTION SURGERIES, Dr. Potparic employs a technique that enables him to avoid horizontal scars. More specifically, he performs these “shorter-scar” breast surgeries via a vertical skin excision, with a resulting “lollipop scar” that goes around the areola down to the inframammary fold. “This technique eliminates horizontal scarring at the LOWER POLE AND BREAST CREASE. I have been employing it for many years.” When performing breast lift surgeries, in particular, Dr. Potparic reshapes both the breast skin envelope and underlying breast mound, moving tissue from the lower part of the breast to the upper part to create a new, more aesthetic breast shape. After reshaping, however, sometimes there are still some areas of fullness near the armpit, that may need to be addressed in order to achieve NATURAL-LOOKING , ROUNDED BREASTS, with ENHANCED FIRMNESS. “In these instances, I can use LIPOSUCTION , like I do during my breast reduction surgeries, to achieve a refined result, with no lateral scar across the breast. After giving birth and breast-feeding, it is very common for breast tissue to undergo atrophy, which can lead to decreased firmness and volume. The incorporation of breast implants may further enhance results in breast lift patients who have lost fullness in the upper pole of the breast.”
