Dr. Mangat has performed his share of repairs on nose jobs gone wrong. “Rhinoplasty is a highlydetailed procedure that requires a great degree of skill and experience,” he says. “I’m not sure many people realize this when they rush into treatment.” Dr. Mangat explains that his main focus during nose surgery is determining how much tissue to preserve, not how much to remove. “The nose can continue to change post-surgically for as many as two years if too much of the cartilage is removed,” he says, adding that it’s important to avoid an “over-operated” look. “What works on a teenage face may not look as good in 30 years, so you have to look at the big picture.” Dr. Mangat also performs a high number of endoscopic forehead lifts, a minimally-invasive way to elevate hooded brows that is ideal for the time-challenged. “The incisions in the hairline are miniscule and the recovery time is often less than a week,” he says.
