IN WHAT WAYS ARE YOU PHILANTHROPY-MINDED?
While much of my time is dedicated to age-defying makeovers, I devote 20 percent of my practice to complex reconstructive work. In fact, I serve as the Chair of the FACE TO FACE Committee, a national organization offering pro-bono surgery to victims of domestic violence.
WHY IS GIVING BACK SO IMPORTANT TO YOU?
Many times these women have lost a portion of their face and it’s my job to re-create it. This aspect of my work is what I find most gratifying—it’s why I became a facial plastic surgeon.
HOW ARE YOU HELPING TO ADVANCE THE FIELD AT LARGE?
Between sculpting noses, chins and cheekbones, I conduct clinical research, lecture, teach, write and enjoy formulating new products. My studies are regularly published in leading medical journals, and my book for consumers, Face the Facts, helps to demystify and define the surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic facial treatments for aging
