Until now, I have not heard about Lipotranz. Throughout my research on the topic, I did not find much information about the technology behind it, but the company claims that it promotes fat liquefaction, fat mobilization and fat elimination. All of this can also be achieved with radio frequency devices (RF), low-intensity ultrasound devices and low-level cold lasers such as the Zerona technology. These types of technologies require multiple treatments and lead to unpredictable results, which can also be temporary. I imagine that Lipotranz might be one of these three technologies. On the other hand, Liposonix is based in a ultrasound technology that uses a high-intensity focused ultrasound energy, which may be able to permanently destroy subcutaneous fat. The coolsculpting system takes advantage of the fact that fat will freeze a lot faster than the skin, and by freezing the fat cells to the point of frostbite for the cells, they will rupture and die but the skin will remain unharmed. These types of results are permanent, however these technologies are better for smaller problem areas. In my practice, we rely on Smartlipolaser technologies for minimally-invasive liposuction, and the Accent XL radio frequency treatment for noninvasive fat reduction, which has long lasting results, but the results require maintenance.
