Get Better Cleavage
Are you happy with the way you look in a low cut top? Do you want better cleavage? Surgery may be the ultimate for long-lasting fullness and cleavage, but a similar effect can be achieved with a good push-up bra. “Push-up bras have built-in padding that lifts up the bust and pushes the breasts closer together to enhance your cleavage,” says New York bra expert Linda Becker. Push-ups are classic because of the sexy, curvy shape they give in a matter of minutes. “Pushups vary in how much cleavage and size they can give. Some have a lot of padding to boost the breasts one or two cup sizes fuller. Others have a ‘cookie’ or bump pad in them to give just a little extra fullness.” Becker says those with petite busts look best in a push-up since more volume is created. “Petite busts need the extra boost while some full breasts just need lift. It’s all about creating a look that is proportionate and flattering, no matter the size.” The effects of a good push-up bra take hold in mere seconds. When shopping for push-up bras, find a style that keeps in proportion with your body shape.
If a new bra isn’t going to do the a trick, your cleavage woes can become a thing of the past with breast augmentation. The procedure itself takes one to two hours and you may be able to see an instant difference—some of the change in size is due to initial swelling, which Orange, CA, plastic surgeon Al Aly, MD, says lasts for a few weeks—but it takes at least a good month for your new breasts to take shape. With choices that include silicone, saline and fat, augmenting the breasts in any way amps them up in terms of size and shape. “There’s no difference in how soon you’ll see results when an implant is used because the increase in volume is evident right away,” says Seattle plastic surgeon Richard A. Baxter, MD. “With fat grafting, which is still controversial and unpredictable, only small amounts of fat can be placed at any one time so the improvement, while still noticeable, may not be as dramatic.”
