Three Ways to Minimize Facial Fat
We often think of fat as our worst enemy but when it comes to the war against aging, fat is actually the secret weapon to looking young by providing volume to the face. Too much fat, especially in the jowls and chin (areas where extra fat is stored), can make you look older than you really are. We all need fat in the face, but if there is way too much of it there are methods to minimize it.
Cut out salt.
The more salt you consume, the more water your retain and sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between true fat and water-weight in the face. Check the sodium content on nutrition facts, you'll be surprised to see how much salt is hiding in some of your favorite foods.
Drink more water.
On average, you should be drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, which will help to flush out toxins and fat that get lodged in the body.
If diet and exercise don’t work, and there are stubborn fat pockets (in areas like under the chin), talk to your doctor about liposuction. Less-invasive options, like Ulthera, may work too, although the long-term results are still unknown.
