Poll: What Do You Think Is The Best Ingredient To Zap Zits?

Credit: Thinkstock

We’ve all had that moment when we wake up to a huge pimple that mysteriously appeared overnight. And for some cruel reason, it always seems to happen on an important day where your picture will be taken. Luckily, there are many products that can diminish the appearance of unsightly pimples, and odds are that product contains either sulfer, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Benzoyl Peroxide is known for clearing blemishes quickly because it kills acne-causing bacteria and dries pimples quickly. It can also reduce inflammation.

Believe it or not, sulfur is actually one of the oldest acne treatments out there. It helps dry out the pimple, battle oily skin and keep pores clear. It’s also often looked at as a more natural option for treating acne.

Salicylic Acid is effective in treating acne because it can penetrate deep into the follicle. It works as an exfoliant and helps clear the pores of cellular debris.

Of these options, we want to know, which one do you think works the best to zap zits? Or do you like to use a combination of them all? Tell us in the comments below!

I've found that Benzoyl Peroxide works the best for my skin. Salicylic Acid actually aggravates my skin and exacerbates my acne while sulfur is too drying (interestingly). Not mentioned but very effective, Retinol is good for acne too.

I've never used Sulfer before.

Even though salicylic acid can be a little bit drying, it actually works to prevent future zits and breakouts.

Salicylic Acid works wonderfully as a chemical exfoliant doubled as well with controlling acne breakouts.

Sulfur!!! It is hands down the best despite the strange smell.

Duac is the best of the Rx products. It has the benzol peroxide with an antibiotic. Ask your derm for a sample.
