Switch your scent from day to night

Posted Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Some of us stick to one signature scent, no matter the season or occasion, while others change it up as often as possible–even day to night. For those who fall into the latter category, we think Ellie D Perfume is a perfect match, times two.

Created by a young art buff who drew inspiration from her equally artsy grandmother, Ellie D Perfume is a two-scent collection made with morning and evening moods in mind. Concocted with a second-generation French perfumer, each fragrances finds its own way of conveying a combination of sentimentality and modernity.

Ellie, the original parfum from this up-and-coming brand, employs a base of musk under layers of florals, vanilla and vetiver to create an almost androgynous aroma; though there's no doubt it was made for a woman. Ellie Nuit, on the other hand, is more noticeably ladylike with its notes of rose, violet and fig atop cashmere wood, sandalwood and coriander.

We love how even if your morning spritz of Ellie hasn't completely faded by the time you're ready to apply Ellie Nuit, you can get away with a little layering to create a distinct new scent that's unique to your own chemistry.
