Make seemingly invincible scars invisible

Posted Wednesday, January 06, 2010

Sometimes a scar has emotional meaning, and reducing it would mean changing an indelible part of oneself—take Padma Lakshmi or Tina Fey, for example, whose beauty is almost enhanced by their choice to keep their scars visible. But more often than not, a scar is simply a mark you'd rather not bear (or bare); a reminder of acne, a telltale sign of surgery, or a silent confession that you're a klutz with a clothes iron.

For those scars, there's a new formula that's garnering rave reviews from early users: InviCible Scars. This cream has been created to address every kind of scar at each phase of its development and existence: inflammation, proliferation (the buildup of excess collagen), epithelialization, and maturation.

The ingredients—including a patent-pending vitamin C complex, dimethicone, and ProBiosyn-4—have been meticulously chosen for the effect on each stage, promoting healthy collagen, restoring lipids and water, softening hardened tissue, and lightening discoloration. And its these ingredients that make InviCible Scars so much different from other scar treatments, which often include needless or irritating components.

A C-section scar may seem sentimental, and discoloration from a mosquito bite may remind you of a great summer; but if you'd rather see your skin look more like it did before it was injured, this breakthrough scar-reducer is a clear choice.

I'm sick of watching yet another company jumping on the scar-be-gone bandwagon. In this case, it's a company that will charge a premium for ingredients that even the cheapies use. I will not pay for more "serums" that do nothing for my scars-- I'll get the scars lasered.

LG and Blossom, have you actually tried this product? If not, are you psychic?

I agree with anon. I have done some serious research on the web and a lot of the ingredients they put are found to be effective although I'm not sure about all of them. The price on the other hand....

I totally agree LG and Blossom! Those ingredients are in other things, and now they're supposed to magically work because they're put into a pretty gold tube? Marketing at its finest...

Bah humbug to all you nay sayers! Wow you guys are rough!

I just ordered a bottle. I'll let you know if it works. I have to say the website was pretty damn convincing with a bunch of science articles. The scar pics looked pretty good too. I'll be thrilled if my scar ends up looking like that.

Who knows, time will tell. This may be loads cheaper than laser but I still hope I haven't just thrown away $80 !!

What have you guys tried? Any recs?

To the last Anonymous (the one right before me)- Gee, lemme guess... it worked so well you didn't even have the chance to let us know.

LG, Blossom and the RATIONAL Anonymous- I think you were right! Just more of the same ingredients in a sexy package. Wish there were really something to get rid of my scars.

really the same ingredients???? Have you actually looked in the ingredients of the other scar removal treatments? It's actually quite different from mederma, bio-oil, etc. Although it does have some common ingredients with other scar products such as silicone, it introduces new ingredients such as vitamin c and actually dissuades the use of popular scar treatment methods such as the use of vitamin e and so far all I hear is positive reviews so we'll just have to wait and see. These guys know what they are talking about if anything

I agree that most OTC scar treatment products are innefective and do absolutely nothing, except maybe moisturize the area. I had 2 rather ugly scars (they were very thick and hard, raised up and red). 1 from my c-section and 1 from another surgery. I tried everything out there..nothing worked for me. I was so upset about them that I went to my doctor to explore scar revision options. For the type of scars I had, my doctor recommended ScarAway silicone scar sheets. He said it is the only OTC product for the treatment of scars that is actually shown over 20 years of studies, etc to work. I used the sheets as directed, and am completely amazed by the way my scars look now. They are completely flat, thinner and faded nicely...barely visible. It seems this type of product was previously available only through doctors and burn centers, and is new OTC. My Mom also used after open heart surgery to prevent a bad scar. I am glad my doctor recommended instead of surgery or injections.
