Fringe For the Duchess, Kate's New Bangs

Kate Middleton has finally done it—changed up her classic look of long loose waves. That's right, the Duchess recently debuted some face-framing fringe and we think the change is just brilliant, especially now that she is pregnant. Bangs are the easiest way to have a pulled-together look, even when you aren't feeling your best.

Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson agrees. "The princess has gone sexy! I love this angled bang look on her—it’s updated '70s Halston!" he says.

So what is so fabulous about this kind of cut (besides that fact that it is extremely flattering on Kate)? "It requires no commitment, unlike a traditional straight bang which would need to be trimmed often. This layered look works with almost all face shapes and is sexy because it brings so much movement to the hair. The look is fresh, modern, youthful and simply gorgeous," says Gibson.

George Gonzalez, owner of Chicago's George the Salon says you can get a cut like Kate's too. "It's just creating a triangle section from the top of the head, pulling the hair down and cutting it on a slight angle, depending on the face shape. Your stylist can tweak details of the cut in terms of length and the angle to ensure this fits your face perfectly."

Plus, with a bang trim like this one, you (or Kate) don't have to be married to it. "The bangs allow her to still have long hair, put her hair up for formal events and they're easy to grow out if she gets tired of them," says Gonzalez.

What do you think of the Duchess' hair makeover? Do you think this new look suits her now that she's expecting?
