Poll: Do You Weigh Yourself Every Day?

There are two schools of thought on whether you should weigh yourself every day. One side says that it’s a great way to keep yourself in check when you diet, the other says that it creates an unhealthy obsession with your weight (among other claims). Recently, actress Salma Hayek admitted in an interview that she believes in the first argument.

"You have to weigh yourself every day, and you have to have an alarm number. When you get to that number, you have to start putting it in reverse," she says. But the petite actress still allows herself to indulge in her favorite foods and red wines, claiming food is her weakness.

Hayek also says that being in love with her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, gives her the motivation to watch her weight. “I think if I was not in love, I would probably let myself go faster. Love gives me the vanity to continue.”

So which side of the scale (pun intended) do you fall under? Do you weigh yourself every day? Tell us in the comments below!

Recently I do. Because I'm keeping a mental or real food journal and I want to know what my food is doing to me. It's very helpful!

I don't weigh myself every day, may be once or twice a week. I like to keep an eye on my weight number, but try not to obsess about it. There is a number I consider my alarm number, since I have been 15 pounds heavier at some point. Don't want to go there again. I love my sweets, but try to eat healthy overall, not just for looks. I want to be around for a while.

Yes, I do weigh myself daily. I was overweight for years and had a difficult time losing weight. Once I found a weightloss app, it made me conscious of weight I lost - a victory...and weight I gained - a wake up call. I don't obsess about my weight, but I agree with Salma...it's a wake up call to make you conscious of how you're treating your body. I love sweets, but I don't love spider veins!
