Strengthen Weak Strands
Is your hair looking dull and breaking easily? If your hair is limp and brittle, it's trying to tell you it needs more moisture. Weak hair that's brittle is more prone to breakage and split ends. If you're not feeding your body with essential fatty acids, the strands become even more vulnerable to damage. To reinstate the health of your locks, include vitamin E and essential oils in your diet to oxygenate and fortify—think nuts, grains and green leafy veggies and avoid foods with caffeine and refined sugar.
According to celebrity hairstylist Francky L'Official, hair should be trimmed at least one-half inch every two months. A regular routine that includes frequent trims and cuts (to eliminate damage and split ends) as well as nourishing and conditioning treatments can help coerce thin, weak stands into stronger ones. Cutting back on heat-based tools will also help.
Prevent split ends by using nourishing and heat-protective products to strengthen your hair. For a quick fix, products that seal split ends will help create the appearance of healthier hair. But to really get your strands in shape, take L’Official’s advice and get trims regularly to eliminate split ends and promote healthier hair growth.
