Get Fabulous Hair for Fall
Each new season brings new weather and a new wardrobe, but we should also be incorporating a new hair routine as well. The summer months can really take a toll on hair, making it even harder to keep your hair shiny, healthy and frizz-free. For fall, colorist Kadi Lee of Serge Normant at John Freida Salon in Los Angeles recommends trying hair color that is rich, shiny and reflective to complement the deep shades associated with fall fashion. “Try a keratin treatment and aim for a color close to your natural shade to give your hair a rest from the sun exposure.” Lee says.
“There are many products out there that are very helpful for controlling the damaging effects of summer—and they have the added bonus of leaving the hair silky and shiny,” says London trichologist Philip Kingsley. Applying natural oils can replenish hair and nourish the scalp and the hair shaft, making tresses glossy and healthy.
Heat can be our hair’s best friend when it comes to faster drying time and achieving super straight styles, but it’s also the obvious offender behind less-than-luminous strands. Blow-drying, curling and straightening zap strands of their moisture, preventing the cuticles from lying flat and reflecting light, which is necessary for shine. Consider tackling dull and dried hair as just another step in your daily beauty battle. Try incorporating heat-protecting products to help keep your strands shiny and protect against damage from hair tools.

Since when does coloring your hair and getting keratin treatments make it healthier? Since never, that's when. If you're using chemicals, which most people do, then your hair will not thank you for what you've done. Quite the contrary. As well, nobody ever said beauty should have to be a "battle". If you can be at peace with your natural state and find the right method of keeping your body and hair healthy, then beauty won't be a battle but rather a peaceful way of life.
