WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO FACIAL REJUVENATION?

I examine the face and figure out how we can recreate a more youthful shape while still making sure the patient looks appropriate for their age. That means a natural-looking and elegant appearance that never looks artificial.

WHAT IS YOUR PRACTICE LIKE?

We just developed a state-of-the-art facial plastic surgery center in the heart of Beverly Hills. Everything is patient centric from the Zen environment and cutting-edge technology, lasers and 3-D imaging to computer access for patients in the rooms.

HOW DO YOU MANAGE PATIENT EXPECTATIONS?

Patient expectations are set by the doctor. We communicate with our patients to ensure that they have realistic goals that we can help them achieve. They appreciate it because it helps them make the best decision to get the desired result. If they want a more dramatic result than a nonsurgical treatment can provide, then we discuss surgical options.

WHAT NEW ADVANCEMENT ARE YOU USING AT YOUR PRACTICE?

I’ve been using micro-blunt cannulas for injectable filler treatments. In my experience, they have reduced the risk of bruising tremendously and improved patient comfort. I am also now combining Ulthera skin tightening and Sculptra® Aesthetic, which we have found works synergistically to restore a youthful appearance without surgery.

WHAT ACHIEVEMENTS ARE YOU PROUD OF?

I trained at Harvard Medical School for my fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, I’ve written five books, have been on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Doctors and have patients travel from all over the world to see me. Most importantly, I am proud of my high patient satisfaction.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

I have a unique job—where interpersonal connections, art and science intersect. I love being at the cutting edge while also caring for patients. I think about how I would treat my patients if they were members of my own family. That guides me.
